This is March 30, 2001, and Henry is three days old. How big is he? Here is how he fits in Mommy's arm.
 How big is Henry's face?
Henry's fingers are one inch long. Here they are, grabbing onto Mom's finger.
And look at his tiny feet!
Oh my goodness, such sweet toes!
Here are Henry's feet on Daddy's hand. Ohhhhh.
Henry got Velez feet, and both Mommy and Daddy are glad about it.
 Hi, pink little footie!
How small are Henry's feet? Let's see one next to Daddy's.
Ohhh, and his tiny hand in Daddy's hand, too.
Henry has Bergem hands, just like Daddy's. Look how small!
See how the pinky fingers point in? Daddy and Henry both got this from Grandma.
Their index fingers point in, too, for the very same reason.
Henry is four days old here, on March 31, 2001. He's wide awake in the dark, and Daddy's taking pictures.
He's laying on the quilt Grandma made for Mommy and Daddy's wedding, 10 years ago now.
We think his face is cute even when it's out of focus. Henry's doctor said this day would be the peak of his jaundice. Happily he turned out to be right.
April 1, 2001, brought some visitors to see Henry. First came our friend Toby.
Toby's practicing for when she becomes a grandma next month.
Clearly she's going to be very good at this!
 Everyone's happy.
Then came Mary, one of our neighbors. She brought Henry a nice present.
Rose came to see Henry, too, and brought us a nice diaper bag so Henry could go out and see the world and still get changed :-)
Mommy gazes down lovingly at little Henry baby all the time...
Can you say "Long Night?" The parents need naps, but it's the baby who gets one!
Happiness is being cradled in your mother's arms.
No, wait, happiness is cradling your baby in your arms, that's it.
When he's awake, he's in motion.
When he's starting to get a little drowsy he looks like this.
Henry is already starting to change from how he was at birth. Here we can see more eyebrows than before.
And we're out. Just 5 days old and sleeping like a baby :-)
We're getting into the rhythm of living with our newborn. Life with him
is a joy we wouldn't trade for anything.
